Hello my friends and welcome back to
Planet M, a podcast all about
neuroscience, spirituality, and real
life tools that you can start using
today to manifest the life that you
desire. I am very excited to record this
episode. I actually wasn't planning on
recording tonight and just hopped on
here because I received a little bit of
a a message or a download if you will in
the shower last night and it had to do
kind of with my work and what I'm
working on and really just kind of this
realization or thought that came through
for me and it was all about your energy
and the way that you show up in the
world and the fact that your energy is
your greatest currency. I want to talk
about in this episode why your energy is
so so so important and how you can start
to set your energy right, different ways
to do that, different times of the day
to do that. Some simple things that I do
to set my energy right, but then also
ways to protect your energy because your
energy is absolutely your greatest
currency. So, I just want to start off
with a little example that isn't my own
example. It is someone that I actually
coach inside of my program Minecraft.
And I'm working in my group and I love
to have my people share wins on our
calls because it sets a really good tone
for the call. And I just love to hear
how people are using the information
they're learning and how they're
applying it in their own lives and how
they're using it to win. I love hearing
just about how other people are winning,
how people that I'm, you know, in my
community are winning. It motivates me
to continue to coach and continue on
just because, you know, that's the whole
point is to help others. So anyway, one
of my amazing students came on and she
was expressing how she was able to
manifest a lot of money in just one
week. And I've had people get on and
after a call say that they posted a
video and it went super viral for for
once. And I've had actually it was
backto-back weeks someone got on and
said that they randomly made a lot of
money or had opportunities coming in.
But this one student in particular that
I'm I'm thinking of. I asked her I said
what was the main thing like what was
the main component for you that you
think really helped you shift your
reality? And she said a couple of
things, but one of the things that
really s stood out to me that she had
said was she really has just been paying
attention to getting her energy right
and putting her own energy first and
making sure that her energy was right
before she went and did anything else.
And I just remember thinking to myself
how powerful that is. When I think of
energy, I think of two things. And this
is something that I actually coach on as
well is really there are there are two
components to your energy. The first is
mental energy and the second is physical
energy. So we really have kind of these
two sides to our energy. And then of
course we have like this energetic
field, right? Where other people can
actually feel our energy through chemo
signals, brain wave synchronization, a
mirror neurons, all those different
things, right? Our energy is actually
contagious. This has been studied and
that's why it is so important to
surround yourself with the right people
and be careful of the environments that
you enter into because the energy that
you have that you show up with is your
greatest currency and your energy is
impacted by other people. And there's
been studies where they've shown that
people will go like watch movies that
make them stressed or anxious and then
they'll leave and then they'll have a
new group of people go in and this new
group of people will actually report
feeling anxious or stressed or fearful
and they're not watching the the scary
movie. They're just feeling that way for
no for quote unquote no reason. But
there is a reason and it's because the
group before them that watched the scary
movie, frightening movie, they actually
left behind chemo signals, chemical
signals through their sweat and breath
that other people can feel that were
lingering in the room. So this is why
it's so important to be careful of the
environments that you go into to protect
your own environments, right? Your home,
your room, your space. Make sure that is
a safe space for you. But then also be
very particular about the people that
you surround yourself with because if
you're surrounded by chronically
stressed and anxious people all the
time, your nervous system actually picks
up on that. And there's actually been
studies that show that not only does
your nervous system pick up on that,
right? Like I just described, but also
it is impacted by that. They've had like
for example dentists do a simulated
task, right? They they didn't have
dentists actually operating on people
for the study, but they had dentists
exposed to these chemo signals and you
know these kind of stress signals and
then right their nervous systems
unconsciously picked up on that and then
they had them go and do a simulated dent
dentist task. I don't remember exactly
what the task was, but they had them go
and do a task that they would normally
have to do for their job. And they were
able to show that their performance on
the simulated tasks was worse if they
were exposed even unconsciously to
stress or, you know, other people's
stress. Not not their own, but other
people's, which right it makes sense if
if we're if we're picking up on other
people's stress, anxiety, any of that
that that is going to impact us. But I
think it's really interesting to note
that it impacts us even on a
subconscious level. And so that is one
reason why it is super important to
protect your energy. So when when my
student had said that, it really got me
thinking and even yesterday as I was,
you know, when she said that about, you
know, really just making sure her energy
was right before she did anything. It
really got me thinking. And then
yesterday, as I was moving throughout my
day, kind of getting my tasks of the day
done, and then at the end of the day, I
was kind of overthinking one thing that
I had done, one one of the tasks I had
completed, and I was in the shower and I
sort of just had this realization or
download come through me where it was
like, you need to make sure that you're
getting your energy right before you do
everything. And I think this is such a
simple topic to talk about, but there
are so many different ways that we can
look at this, but your energy, it
impacts your performance, right? We just
talked about that your energy impacts
your performance. It impacts the way
that you feel. It is the way that you
feel, right? So, if you're feeling sad
and or depressed, right? I know
personally I I've been diagnosed
depression. I I' I've been there. I've
been in that darkness and I remember,
you know, just feeling so low energy,
like nothing really felt exciting. I
never felt energized. I just always felt
tired no matter how much I rested,
right? And that kind of gets at that com
that mental energy component. And
dopamine, excitement, motivation, joy.
This is mental energy. This is mental
energy. You can I I mean, I I remember
being a little kid, you know, night
before Christmas or whatever it is.
Even, you know, even now to this day
when I have something excited exciting
planned for the future, I might have
trouble falling asleep that night before
because I'm excited for the next day. Or
it's the opposite where I wake up in the
morning early, right, and early jumping
out of bed because I'm excited for what
the day holds. That's mental energy. No
matter how much I slept, right? And I've
had periods in my life where I'm not
sleeping much, but I'm not tired because
I have so much mental energy, so much
excitement. And I think a lot of times
we focus a lot on physical energy like
rest, sleep, you know, fueling our
bodies, which of course is extremely
important, don't get me wrong, but there
are two sides to the energy piece. There
is physical energy where you need rest
and you know to energize and fuel
yourself up. But then there's also
mental energy. And then there is
actually a third component that I'm now
going to tie in which is that more
spiritual energy component and that's
that can be your connection to your
higher power. But then also there are
spiritual energy drainers. I was
actually out in I don't think I want to
name the city that I was in. You guys
can maybe infer for yourselves but that
part isn't really important. But I was
out in a city, a different city from
where I live, and I ran into someone
that was another celebrity's manager,
like a a big-time celebrity's manager,
and she knew I was, she was following
me, and we talked for a little bit, and
she invited me to this big celebrities
like red carpet, etc. I was, "Oh, it's
cool." Um, and then, you know, we went
on our separate ways. And I remember
after having that interaction, my head
hurt. And I remember telling my fiance,
I was like, "My head hurts." Um, yeah,
my head hurts. And he actually was the
one that said, "Does your head hurt
before or did it just start hurting
after you had this interaction with
them?" Because I got weird vibes from
them. And I was surprised that I hadn't
even thought about that because I guess
I was so kind of swept up in the
conversation that I wasn't really even,
you know, being the observer of the
conversation of the situation. But
looking back on that thousand%
that whole world that that that person
was a part of not necessarily a world
that I would associate with liked and
and goodness
I I and and so when I say spiritual
energy, right, like that's kind of where
that part comes in. And I know
specifically this woman, she was a
manager for a celebrity that I I I don't
know I would associate with light and
goodness. So needless to say, I did not
go to that red carpet event. Um, and
actually I turned down that event and
then a few days later was when an an
incredible opportunity came through for
me that was completely aligned. And I
actually used that as a teaching moment
in my own space in my community for when
you turn down things that are not
aligned for you, you actually leave room
and and free up space in your own field
for things that are aligned for you. And
this is why it's so important to not
settle and not say yes to things if if
it feels wrong. If deep down, you know,
and I had a friend say to me like, "Oh,
but but it's for like the exclusivity.
That would have been such a cool event
to go to like just like not even to meet
that celebrity, but for the
exclusivity." And I was like, "I don't
care about that because for me, like my
energy is my greatest currency." And it
is. I am telling you, when your energy
is right, you are magnetic. You are
magnetic to everything that you want. I
remember living in Florida, walking down
the street, walking my dog. Actually, I
don't even know if I had a dog yet. I
think I was just walking down the
sidewalk and this man with a corgi would
I I I I had always seen him on my I
would I would walk and talk to myself.
I've shared with you guys before. That's
something that I like to do. And this
man with a corgi, he looked at me and he
was just so cute. He has these chunky
glasses and he looked at me and he
smiled at me waved. I remember just like
smiling and waving and like sending him
so much love through my eyes and just
the feeling the joy of that interaction.
I remember walking away specifically
from that interaction being like, "Wow,
it feels so good to send love and joy to
other people and to smile and spread
happiness." And the reason why I
remember this event so clearly is
because of what happened after. Because
right after that happened and I was
thinking about how good it felt and how
like positive it made me feel, I opened
up my phone and I had a notification
that a really big brand deal or some
amount of money came through for me. I
remember thinking to myself, "Wow,
everything just goes better when you
feel better. When your energy is right.
Everything goes better when your energy
is right." And something similar, not
similar at all actually, something
another situation happened a few months
ago for me where I was actually kind of
going through it with something in my
personal life. And I remember there was
this one point where I was like, you
know what? I think I just need to get in
my car and drive to go see my best
friend, my one best friend from my PhD.
She just never fails. Just sometimes you
need a little girl time with your best
friend. Like it's just just never fails.
And the craziest part though was that as
soon as I got in the car to drive to
where she lives, I felt better. Like it
was just like all my brain needed was
the switch in order to transition and my
energy immediately shifted. And I
remember being in the car being like,
damn, like I feel so much better
already. And then again again I opened
up my phone and I actually had I had
been wanting to connect with someone for
a podcast situation and I wanted to be
able to have a conversation with them
beforehand and that person actually
reached out and was like, "Yeah, let's
connect." And so I got like it I got
exactly what I wanted after my energy
shipped it. And I remember thinking to
myself on the phone with my assistant
and I was talking to her and I was
telling her, "Wow, everything just works
out when your energy is right." Like
everything just works out when your
energy is right. And you know, I can
talk a little bit more about kind of
like the neuroscience of this as well,
which I've talked about a little bit
about why energy is contagious, but not
necessarily about how your energy really
affects your reality. And you know,
there are a few kind of components to
this that I will hit on. And then I will
also hit on the fact that not everything
can be explained by neuroscience. And I
don't think that it needs to be. I think
that science is a lens through which we
can look at life but it's not the only
lens through which we should look at
life like science is behind if anything
it's behind right there are things that
we that like in kind of spiritual
um arenas we've been knowing that right
it's been ancient knowledge and now
science coming around to prove it right
and so I don't really think I'm not the
type of person or you know trained
scientists to be like oh just because
there's not paper showing it doesn't
mean that it doesn't happen. And I
remember when I shared this story inside
of Minecraft, the one that I just shared
about how I was driving in the car, as
soon as I felt right, I get on my phone
and the person that I was waiting to
hear from had reached out. Is there, you
know, a neuroscience explanation for
that? I think we can touch on the fact
that when you are feeling good, your
brain filters your reality from more
things to help you to continue to feel
good. That is true. However it like your
brain filters your reality. It
constructs your reality in every second.
It's filtering that according to your
mood. Research shows actually that we
even see color differently depending on
our mood. This is where the saying
seeing the world through rosecolored
lenses comes from, right? So, we are
seeing color differently depending on
our mood. We're also just seeing our
environment. We're seeing life
differently depending on our mood, but
depending on our energy. And so, our
brain filters reality differently and
it's going to flag different things
differently, right? And so if I was
still feeling terrible, maybe that
person still would have reached out to
connect with me, but I wouldn't have
felt happy about it and maybe I wouldn't
have even noticed it. I really don't
know who's to say, right? Because now
we're just playing the what if game. But
what I do know was that as soon as my
energy shifted, the thing that I wanted
arrived. And that's happened for me so
many times in my life. And not just me,
people that I work with, people that I
coach, people in my personal life. As
soon as your energy shifts, what you
want comes to fruition. All of a sudden,
now the opportunities, the parking spot,
the the money on the ground that you
just find. Someone in Minecraft messaged
on Monday saying that she accidentally
found $12,000. Like, I I genuinely don't
even know how that can be an accident.
Like, I still to this moment as I film
this don't know. I like maybe she didn't
mean to say that accidentally, but she
said very clearly she said accidentally.
So I I really don't know how that
happens. But that's the fun part is that
I don't need to know. And it it goes
kind of handin-hand with detachment,
right? Like I've had people say like,
"Oh, but you know, you're going to ask
for something. How do you know? How is
it going to happen? How will that ever
come true?" That's the whole point is
you don't need to know how. You don't
need to know how your dreams are all
going to come to fruition. You don't
need to know how. So back to energy.
Your energy is your greatest currency.
Your brain filters your reality
according to it. You also are going to
be releasing chemo signals according to
it. Other people are as well. Brain
waves. Other people will sync up with
that energy. I know personally when I'm
having a conversation with someone and
I'm in really good energy. Other people
tend to be brought up to my energy and
then we're just sinking, flowing, having
a really good conversation. Um, but then
I've also been in situations where the
other person is, you know, on a
completely different page. Then we're
just not saking and we're not flowing
and we don't resonate at all. Our brain
waves are not sinking up and we're not
understanding each other. We're not
seeing eye to eye, right? And so your
energy is important for a lot of
different things. For communication, for
the way that other people are going to
feel you, but also for the what you
experience in your reality. I want to
talk about one other thing for
protecting your energy. I obviously have
said be careful about the environments
that you're in or the people that you
are in communication with, but also
about what you are consuming because you
don't just connect or sync up with or
you're not only impacted by people
around you in in real life, you're also
impacted by people you experience
virtually, right? So, like you're
watching me or listening to me right now
speak. Hopefully, you are feeling
positive energy or good things of light
from this episode. At least that was my
intention going into it. But I'm sure
you've experienced in other areas and on
other platforms or from different
content, whatever, you know, whatever
the case may be. Maybe it's the news
where it doesn't make you feel so good
afterward. And so I just want to, you
know, give you guys a quick reminder and
give you permission to protect your
energy online and in on those online
spaces. There's just so much going on in
the world right now. And of course, it
is great to be informed, but it's not
necessarily helpful to be bombarded with
all of that energy 24/7. It's just not.
And I will say if you if we want to make
the world a better place, which I
definitely do, and I know that you you
listening to this, you probably do too.
The world needs more people that are
vibrating at a high frequency. We need
more people that are spreading love and
joy and happiness. We don't need more
people bogged down feeling discouraged
and hopeless and afraid. We don't need
that. And so if you are beginning to
feel that way by, you know, what you're
seeing on social media and what you're
seeing on the news, then just take a
break. Take a break from it and curate
your feed. I promise you, the
information will get to you one way or
another. I mean, I've seen people before
say like, "Oh, but if you don't if you
don't follow the news, if you don't
follow, you know, how are you ever going
to know what's going on?" Trust that you
will know what's going on. It's It's in
my opinion, it's almost impossible to
not know what's going on these days
unless you literally live under a rock
or at the top of a mountain in the
forest with no Wi-Fi connection. You'll
know. You'll know. It's everywhere. I
just wanted to like give you permission
to protect yourself and protect your
energy because protecting your energy
allows you to fill yourself up so that
you can then go and pour into other
people and pour into the world around
you. And just to give you guys a little
quick tip now, when it comes to
protecting your energy, I know not
everybody it has the luxury of, you
know, only ever being in environments
around good, positive, happy, peaceful
people. I I didn't used to have that
luxury. And even sometimes, you know,
I'm I'm in environments where there are
people around me that are stressing me
out. And I've been and like specifically
like just to keep it light-hearted, I've
been in a room with my fiance Stanley
where they're watching a football game
and they're into it and they're stressed
and they're hard and I and there just
are some people that you know are very
into sports and let and even my like I
even have family members where like
they'll be like I feel like I'm this
team is going to give me a heart attack,
right? There are people that are into
that. Absolutely no shame in that.
That's what lights you up. Super excited
for you. But even me, honestly, I'm like
that. This even happens to me when I'm
watching the Dallas Stars sometimes and
it's a close game, especially during the
playoffs. I get into it. My heart will
be racing. Okay, so I I'm nobody I'm not
I'm not above that either. It's just
just to point that out. But anyway, so I
was in the room and my heart started to
race and I started to feel a little
anxious and I did not to be completely
clear, I did not care about this game
that they were watching. And so I knew,
you know, me coming to my own knowing
and own awareness of like, hey, you're
not, this isn't, you're not anxious
right now, the people around you are
anxious and your nervous system is
picking up on that. Your nervous system
cal is calibrating to the room and the
people around you. And so what did I do?
I left and I went to go take a shower
and have a hair wash day because we all
know if if you're out there, you have
hair wash days and you know that takes
some time. I was like, "This sounds like
this feels like a good time to have a
hair wash day." And so I took I stepped
out of the room and I went and did my
own things and I immediately felt better
and was able to reeregulate. But then,
you know, if stepping out of the the
room or leaving the environment isn't
always available to you, um something
that I used to do back in the day, I
remember like kind of in the beginning
of my journey, I was at one of my
friends apartments and they there I
don't know what was going on, but I
remember just starting to feel a little
stressed and anxious or whatever and I
didn't want to leave per se. So, what I
did was I actually just went to a
different room really quick and I did a
guided meditation where I imagined kind
of a golden bubble of energy around me,
a golden bubble of energy. And it was a
guided meditation. I believe it's
actually a a a public playlist that I
have on YouTube. It's this meditation
that allow that kind of has you imagine
this golden orb around you that protects
your energy. And I remember I would do
that and it would really help. It
actually made a big difference in the
way that I felt. And then sometimes and
I've actually done it in public spaces
as well. I remember one time in Miami, I
was at this art show that somebody had
invited me to with a friend and
immediately it just felt like the energy
was off and we were sitting there during
this live visual art show and then my
friend started to get a migraine and I
just knew I was like I was looking
around the room and I was like these
people are getting their like souls
sucked out of them right now. It was
in a very interesting and the only time
I think I've ever been in a situation
like this. But anyway, I remember I was
like, "Hey, let me practice my powers
right now." And I just imagined like
stretching a golden if you guys have
ever seen Twilight like the last movie
like Breaking Dawn part two where Bella
can like have her invisible force field
stretch outside of her. That's literally
exactly what I like imagined myself
doing. I closed my eyes and literally I
start I was like, "Let me see if I could
do this." And I started doing it and
then my friend next to me, I like
turned. She's like, "What are you
doing?" And I just turned and I was
like, "How does your head feel?" She was
like, "It actually feels better." And
that was a really cool moment because I
realized I was like, "Whoa, wait, wait a
minute. This little force field thing is
not any joke." But then it didn't end
and it continued and I was like, "We're
not staying here. Like, let's get up and
let's leave." So, we left. And then I
actually shook my energy off, which is
another huge hack for protecting your
energy or shaking off any negative or
bad energy. Like, if you're around
somebody who's stressing you out or
you're feeling anxious even and it's not
even anyone else, maybe it's you,
something that you're thinking about.
Um, I remember this is actually
something that my dog taught me. I
noticed if she would bump her head or if
something would happen, she would just
shake it off. She would literally shake
her body. And so I remember I was in the
parking lot about to get in my car and I
didn't even want to get in my car with
that energy still on me. So I just like
jumped up and down and shook out my body
for a few minutes and then got in the
car and I felt fine. I went home. So,
those are just a few things just kind of
right off the bat for protecting your
energy, shaking off any, you know, bad
energy. But then I want to go through
getting your energy right because
getting your energy right is extremely
important. And getting your energy right
before you do things, it makes a huge
difference and it is one of the best
ways to practice your powers. I actually
did that. I actually did this right
before I started recording this episode.
I closed my eyes, took a few deep
breaths, centered myself, set a little
prayer, asked God to work through me
and, you know, use me and allow me to
spread light and love to whoever's
listening and watching. Set an intention
that whoever's listening and watching
would get what they needed from this
episode and let that be that. And then
I, you know, came in and and started
recording. And so for me, that was a way
of practicing what I'm literally
preaching in this episode of getting my
energy right before I go and do things.
And that's example number one. Honestly,
getting a little bit ahead of myself,
but sharing that example kind of is me
giving you that first way to practice
your powers and set your energy right.
So, you can do this before you do
anything. Personally, I do this right
before I film podcasts, before I create
content, before I host my huge um master
classes for thousands of all of you
guys. Like, I I I get my energy right.
And it's not always the same. It's not
always the same. It's not always, you
know, prayer, intention, deep breaths,
although it is usually something along
those lines. U it looks different
depending on whatever I'm feeling that I
need in the moment. I do this all the
time, right? Before I film, before I
create content, before I teach, before I
coach, before I even like in the past
whenever I was on my PhD, I would I
would set my energy right before I
walked through the doorways to class. I
would, you know, and and so when I when
I'm talking about setting your energy,
right, I guess now I'm kind of moving
into a little bit more of a a loose way
of using the term, but you know, I used
to walk through the doors to my class, a
two-hour neuroscience lecture, and I
would set my energy and I would say, I'm
walking through the doorway to focus,
the doorway to knowledge and learning,
and I am going, my brain is going to be
locked in. I'm gonna learn. I'm going to
listen. I'm going to be able to remember
what the professor is saying and I'm
actually going to be able to pay
attention as I walk through this
doorway. Right? And that is a way for me
to set my energy, right? And set that
intention. Pra intention setting is a
powerful way to practice your powers.
And so you can you can set your
intentions that way. You can also set
your intentions through stating who you
want to be, right? And I remember being
on the phone with someone that I work
with on my team and I was talking to him
and he was about to go into a business
meeting and I was talking to him about
identity shifting and I was like and I
was like what's your meeting about? And
he I don't remember exactly what he said
but it was a business meeting and I said
well just know the energy that you're
going to walk through that doorway into
that meeting with is I am a boss
businessman. Really just practicing
helping him practice the idea of setting
your energy the way that you want it to
be. whether it's your identity, whether
it's what you want your intention, your
focus, um your whatever you want your
energy to be, right? And that's the most
beautiful thing is that it's up to you.
How do you want to show up when you do
things? There's been times for me where
I'm feeling so tired, feeling just not
into it. And I'll look down at my drink
that I'm drinking and I'm like, "This
drink is what's going to get my energy
right. um get my energy is is shifting
as we there are also ways to assign
meanings to different objects and the
the placebo yourself into shifting your
energy. You can use the po the doorway
effect which is what I was kind of
saying when I as I would walk through
the doors to my classes in my PhD.
Environment is something that I studied
when I was in undergrad and my research
actually won awards. Um, but we we
studied kind of the way that we organize
events in time in our brains depending
on our environment and context. And what
we found was that when you shift
environments, when you change context,
your brain actually shifts and segments
your memories. But also that that's kind
of a representation of how your brain is
segmenting and shifting itself, right?
So your brain state is actually changing
as you change locations and change
environments. And there are many
different ways that you can use that to
your favor. And we could do a whole
episode about that. But kind of using
that knowledge to your advantage, to
shift your energy, to get your energy
right. And I and I've done that as well.
Sometimes if I'm just not feeling it and
I've been at home before trying to
create content or whatever it is and I'm
just like it's I can't get into flow.
And what I will do, I'll just get in my
car. Sometimes I'll get in my car,
sometimes I'll drive down the road to a
coffee shop, but I will use kind of that
I will change locations on purpose to
help change and shift my energy. And a
huge neuroscience point really quick
that I want to make about intention
setting, about pausing to set an
intention for like I was saying, I'm
going to be focused or you know, I as I
sit down on this episode, I want to be
able to share helpful information and
light for people. I'm just setting
intentions like that. The reason why
that is so helpful or one of the reasons
why is you are actually priming your
brain. You are priming your brain to
activate in a certain way. There are so
many studies that look at kind of the
effects of priming and different avenues
and branches and ways to kind of apply
this in ways that you are affected. Your
performance is affected. the way that
your brain filters your reality is
impacted. Um, priming your brain is
powerful for so many different reasons.
And you know, just the one study that
comes to my mind, the most recent one
that I've read about the power of
priming your brain, it was about job
interviews and how they actually what
they what they did was they took a group
of people. They took two different
groups of people and they had one group
um write about a time that they felt
extremely powerful and they had another
group write about a time where they felt
completely powerless. And then they had
all these people go and do job
interviews like mock interviews. And the
interviewers, the people that were, you
know, interviewing these people and
deciding whether or not they were going
to get the job, they did not know the
conditions that these interviewees were
under. They didn't even know they were
primed at all. They did not know the
point of the study. They just
interviewed. And then they asked these
interviewers, they said, you know, who
would you hire? And what they found was
that the people that were primed for
powerful that talked about a time they
were powerful before they went and did
the interview were way more likely to
get the job than the people that were
primed and and talked about a time
there. They felt powerless. So, this is
just, you know, one of the most recent
studies I've read. And there are so many
different ways to prime your brain. And
and I'll say I just kind of going on a
little bit of a tangent here, a little
bit of a sidetrack. We're always being
primed. If you think about it, we're
always being primed. And you know, you
walk through life and you know, you go
to the grocery store and you know, you
you watch the news, you go on social
media, you're always being primed. Your
brain is always, you know, subject to
this effect. And so you could prime
yourself on purpose, of course. And for
example, if you have a job interview
tomorrow, write a little story about a
time you felt extremely powerful right
before you go into that interview. Um,
if you are needing to focus in class,
visualize a time where you visualize
yourself being able to focus before you
walk into class. That's something that I
I used to do and I honestly haven't done
it in a while. Maybe I will more often,
but visualizing, you know, yourself
literally with the energy that you want
to have. I the last interview, the last
big podcast that I went on, it's not out
yet. I I remember right before I sat
down and closed my eyes and visualized
us talking, laughing, and it being a
great conversation. And then I'm sitting
there on this interview, and guess what
I'm looking at? I'm looking at the other
person laughing, having a conversation
with me. And so priming your brain is
there's so many different ways to do it.
You can do it on purpose, but I think
it's interesting to start to look around
and notice how you're kind of always
being primed. And let's say, you know,
you're talking to your friend about
something and then all of a sudden you
go on social media or you go out into
public and now your brain is filtering
for that thing. And I have an example of
this actually. I was at a restaurant the
other day and it was really cool. We
were at a really big table and it was
one of those kind of like I don't know
what the term for it is actually at all.
Commutal tables. I don't know. But there
was a father and a daughter sitting next
to us. And it was really cool actually
because you know the daughter was like I
don't want garlic. And then the dad was
like, "Do you even know what garlic is?"
It was just this little girl. And she
was like, "Yes, I do. Vampires don't
like it." And I just thought that was a
fire answer on her part. After she said,
"Oh, vampires don't like it." He was
like, "Oh, N." Like, you do know what
garlic is. And then she goes, "Are
vampires real?" And I was super
interested in her dad's answer to that
question because that's an interesting
question, right? Like, and I personally
I don't know what I would answer. So, I
was I was listening in too. I was like,
"Okay, dad, what are you going to say?"
I don't even remember hearing his
answer, but personally, I was thinking,
you know, and in our in my own
conversation after that, I was like, I
wouldn't say yes or no. I would just ask
my kid like, "What do you think?" You
know, spur like allow them to think
through and think for themselves. The
reason why I'm sharing this story is I
think it was like the next day, a couple
days later, we were on social media and
my fiance like pulled something up and
it was like something with a vampire
literally. And I just remember, you
know, I was like, that's not a
coincidence. I don't believe in
coincidences. But it's super interesting
how our brains were primed for it,
right? We heard a conversation about a
vampire and now all of a sudden there's
a post. Would my brain have noticed that
post on social media if I wasn't primed
for it? I don't know. But I know it
definitely wouldn't be having the impact
that it's having on me now. And I
wouldn't be still thinking about it if
it wasn't. So, we're always being
primed. And you can absolutely prime
your brain on purpose. There is one
other sort of or two other times that I
want to talk about getting your energy
right and really kind of honing in
centering yourself and just refocusing
your mind. And I think when I say
getting your energy right, I now that
I'm speaking through this episode and
fleshing it all out right before my own
eyes, I think that there's kind of the
recharging that there and there is kind
of the intention setting and priming and
directing your energy, right? And then I
think that there's also the times for
centering yourself and calling your all
of your energy back to you. And I think,
you know, we've talked about protecting
your energy. talked about ways to, you
know, recharge obviously like rest and
pouring into yourself, self-care. Also,
just kind of maybe even like I like to
consume content that energizes me. For
me, learning new things is a huge
recharge for me. Like I love reading
research papers that that recharges me
and helps me feel more excited about
life. And so that's going to be
different for you obviously, but that's
one of my things like gets my energy
right and recharges me. And then there
are of course energy directors where we
can actually start to direct our energy
on purpose through intention setting or
priming our brains. And then there are
those centering activities, right? Like
I talked about before I started this
podcast where I will take a few breaths
and call my energy back to me and maybe
say a prayer, maybe set some intentions,
whatever the case may be. And then I
think there's also this other time or
two times with um for really making sure
your energy is right and it is right
when you wake up in the morning and as
you're falling asleep at night. When you
wake up in the morning, you are a blank
slate. And it is the opportunity for you
to set your energy correctly and center
yourself, ground yourself, root yourself
down into the soil and and so that way
you are that deeply rooted tree. And as
you move throughout the day, the wind is
going to come, the challenges, whatever
the maybe it's a beautiful day, maybe
nothing happens. Maybe it's the perfect
day, but maybe it's a stormy day. If
you're deeply rooted, it will matter.
You might bend, but you won't break. You
will not blow over. You will not fall
down if you've rooted yourself first
thing in the morning. Getting your
energy right first thing in the morning.
So important. There's no right or wrong
way to do this. Personally, I view
meditation as a non-negotiable. I think
meditation is something that if you're
the type of person that says, "Oh, I
can't meditate." Stop saying that, first
of all, because that is an instruction
to your brain. Start telling yourself
that you can. It is a practice. It's a
practice for a reason. The people that
are the best at meditating, they're not
necessarily the best at sitting in
silence the whole time, but they are the
best at redirecting their mind and
letting go of the thoughts when they
come. The they're the be the the best
meditators are the ones that are the
best at bringing themselves back to
center. It's a practice of bringing
yourself back to center. And that is a
powerful skill to have. I think
meditation is a practice of yeah being
able to center your energy and bring
your energy back to yourself and direct
your energy in the way that you want it
to go. And it's it's also a practice of
building focus, especially mindfulness
meditation. And focus is so much more
than just focusing on a task and
remembering what you read in a book.
Focus is regulation. focus is you know
the direction of your focus is the
direction of your life and the direction
of your energy because where your focus
goes energy flows. So um meditation for
me is a non-negotiable and it's that way
for you know when I'm coaching people
it's the same like you have to meditate
like you personally I don't I don't see
a way to tap into the superpowers that
we all have and to get to know yourself
on a deep deep a super deep level
without observing yourself and that's
what meditation is. It's a practice of
observing yourself. It's where
self-awareness is born. And meditation
looks different for everybody. There's
not a right or wrong way to do it. I'm
not going to sit here and tell you that
you have to sit in silence, close your
eyes. But I think meditation is
extremely powerful and it does give you
superpowers. When I started meditating
was when I started to change my life.
And so I'll die on that hill. If you
don't currently love your life and
you're not currently meditating every
day, start because there's no way you
don't see a change. There's just no way.
I have people ask me questions. I can
sit and I can explain in things and I
can share information. But if you're
asking me a question that you know I
think that is something that you should
allow your intuition to answer. I'm
going to tell you to go meditate. Get
into a deep state of meditation and then
ask your intuition and allow the answer
to come. And maybe you don't view that
as your intuition. Maybe you view that
as God or the universe speaking through
you or to you. But I think the only way
to tap into that is in the silence of
your mind. And so you got to get into
the silence of your mind. And so
meditation is extremely powerful. But
the point is when you get up in the
morning, setting your energy straight
and getting it right first thing in the
morning is extremely important because
if you don't, you're going to be a leaf
in the wind all over the place. And then
of course the other time is at night
before you go to sleep. How you fall
asleep at night, the way that you fall
asleep, what you're thinking about, that
sets the tone for what simmers in your
brain all night long. So before you
fall, this doesn't need to be anything
extra, but before you fall asleep, try
to fall asleep with a smile on your
face. And if that's a little too much,
try to fall asleep thinking about
something good. Try not to fall asleep
overinking about what's going wrong, the
things that are stressing you out. Try
to fall asleep thinking about even
somebody you love, something you love,
something you're excited for. is bonus
points if you can think about something
you're excited for the next day because
that will also help you get up with a
little pep in your step. Bonus points
for that. But just to wrap this up here,
long story short of this episode is get
your energy right before you do anything
else. Because if you go and you take
action from the wrong state of mind,
from this negative energy, this negative
place, you may not get the outcome that
you're hoping for. You could go and do a
task, complete a task with great energy
and you could complete a task with
terrible energy and you will see the
difference in the work. You will see a
difference in the finished product. I
know for me, you know, it's very easy to
overlook this and think to myself, oh, I
don't have time to go to the gym. I
don't have time to meditate this morning
because I'm going to get straight to
work. I have too much to do. Well, guess
what? You're going to be working,
grinding all day long, pushing yourself
up the hill, facing friction when you
could have just spent that 20 minutes
this morning getting your energy right
and now you're getting into flow state,
feeling good, producing some of the best
work you've ever produced and feeling
great doing it and maybe even getting it
done faster. And so I know, you know,
firsthand it is really easy to think,
oh, you don't have time to. And then and
I've got more going on now than ever.
And think I' I' I remember the other day
I was like, you know what? I don't
really have time to go outside and go
into nature and go for a little short
hike, but I'm going to go and do it
because I know it's going to help me
feel better and that's going to help me
do better. Same way we whenever we look
good, we feel good. We do good. Whenever
we feel good, we do good. Okay? So get
your energy right. Get your energy right
before you do anything else. Before you
try to go and manifest the things that
you want, before you do anything, get
your energy right and regulate your
nervous system. Because when you are
disregulated, when you are when your
energy is chaotic, your nervous system
is disregulated. When you are stressed,
anxious, that's the energy that you're
putting out into the world. And I'm a
firm believer that what you put out into
this world is what you get back. So get
your energy right first. regulate
yourself first before you go and do the
thing. All right, guys. I'm sending
every single one of you so much love.
And I hope this was helpful. I hope that
you gained something from this episode.
And if you would like to spend a little
more time with me, maybe learn from me
in a live free class, then I highly
encourage you to sign up for one of my
free live master classes. Um, they're
really fun and I always have a great
time. Everybody always has a great time
and at the end we do a Q&A. I actually
just met someone in person today at the
grocery store and he said to me that he
was actually at a master class a few
weeks ago and that the information's
been really helping him and he just
moved and he doesn't know a single
person. So, shout out to him. If you're
watching this right now, shout out to
you. I actually didn't have a chance to
say this after you walked away. I was
like, damn. I just hope he knows that.
That's big time. Moving to a new city
where you don't know a single person,
that's a bold move and that's a power
move. And you know, doing that, you're
gonna you're going to experience some
level ups in life. So, I'm excited for
him. But anyway, guys, come to my free
live master classes. Like I said, the
registration link is always in the link
in my bio on Instagram. I'm sending
every single one of you guys so much
love. Until the next episode, I will see
